India Strengthens Global Semiconductor Ties at IESA Vision Summit and Gujarat Semiconnect

India is advancing its semiconductor ambitions through global collaborations, as highlighted at the IESA Vision Summit and Gujarat Semiconnect. The events saw participation from 180 foreign delegates in high-impact country-specific roundtables, reinforcing India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain.

Hosted in Gandhinagar and inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, the discussions focused on technology transfer, supply chain resilience, foreign investments, workforce development, and strategic alliances. Over 350 participants from seven countries, including the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Sweden, Korea, and the UK, engaged in dialogues to strengthen semiconductor cooperation.

Ashok Chandak, President of IESA, emphasized that India’s semiconductor aspirations require international partnerships to accelerate innovation, enhance supply chains, and develop a skilled workforce. IESA has forged collaborations with global trade bodies, embassies, and organizations like SEMI, which represents over 3,500 global members. The Indo-Dutch semiconductor report, released last year, further underscores India’s commitment to global cooperation.

Key topics discussed included joint ventures, policy frameworks, skilling programs, and India’s positioning as an alternative manufacturing hub. The strong international participation reflects growing confidence in India’s semiconductor potential and highlights its increasing role in global supply chains.

As India moves toward self-reliance in semiconductor manufacturing, these strategic collaborations mark a significant step in fostering a resilient, innovation-driven, and investment-friendly ecosystem.
