11-year-old students from Delhi school advance in F1 in Schools competition

A team of five 11-year-old students from Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, is participating in the F1 in Schools programme, where they have designed and developed a model Formula 1 car as part of the competition.

The team, named Infinity Speeders, comprises Aarna De, Advait Bhardwaj, Asad Farooqi, Ishaavi Bansal and Saira Bhalla. The initiative is part of the STEM-based competition platform facilitated in India by Stemplify.

According to the school, the students have worked on engineering design, aerodynamics and presentation aspects to build their model car, demonstrating early exposure to motorsports engineering concepts.

As part of the project, the team engaged with organisations including Pirelli, JK Tyre and the International Solar Alliance, among others, to present their concept and receive mentorship inputs.

The project also incorporates sustainability elements, with the team exploring the use of solar energy concepts in motorsports and using recycled materials in their presentation and display models.

The students said the initiative aims to combine innovation and environmental awareness while introducing young participants to engineering and design thinking.

The F1 in Schools programme is a global competition that encourages students to apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts through the design, testing and racing of miniature Formula 1 cars.
