
Cloudflare has partnered with OpenAI to introduce a Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation service aimed at helping organisations identify, prioritise and address software vulnerabilities using artificial intelligence.
The service, available in early access through Cloudflare Managed Defense, combines AI-based code analysis and patch generation using OpenAI Daybreak models, including GPT-5.6 Cyber, with security and traffic data from Cloudflare’s global network.
The company said the service is designed to help security teams identify vulnerabilities that are being actively targeted and deploy protective measures at the network edge while permanent fixes are developed.
Cloudflare said its platform can correlate live internet traffic with vulnerability scans to help security teams prioritise high-risk issues. Customers can also deploy customised Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules against specific attack patterns, providing temporary protection before a software vulnerability is patched.
The service can also use OpenAI models to generate code patches for identified vulnerabilities. Cloudflare said these fixes require human review and approval before implementation.
Cloudflare CEO and co-founder Matthew Prince said combining the company’s network visibility with AI-based code analysis could help organisations respond to emerging threats more quickly.
McCall McIntyre, Head of Global Cyber Partnerships at OpenAI, said the partnership aims to provide enterprise security teams with AI-based tools for proactive defence.
According to Cloudflare, the service is currently available by invitation to select Enterprise customers. The company said the offering is intended to move vulnerability management from isolated scanning towards a more context-driven approach that combines code, network and security information.
