UClean enters Somalia, Mongolia; expands global footprint

UClean, an India-based laundry and dry-cleaning chain, has announced its entry into Somalia and Mongolia, marking an expansion into markets largely untapped by organised Indian service brands.

The company said the move is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its international presence and tap underserved regions through its franchise-led model.

According to UClean, this is among the first instances of an Indian franchise-based service brand establishing operations in these countries. The expansion is expected to introduce organised laundry services and create local entrepreneurship opportunities in markets where the sector remains largely unstructured.

The development follows the company’s expansion across multiple international markets in 2025, including Nepal, Bangladesh, the UAE, Sri Lanka, Ghana and Mauritius.

“Entering markets like Somalia and Mongolia reflects our belief that demand for organised laundry services is universal,” Arunabh Sinha, Founder and CEO, UClean, said in a statement. He added that the move is aimed at enabling entrepreneurship and building a global brand presence.

The global franchise market is projected to grow by USD 565.5 billion during 2025–2030 at a compound annual growth rate of 10 per cent, according to Research and Markets. UClean said it aims to leverage this growth through its scalable franchise model.

Founded in 2017 by Arunabh Sinha and Gunjan Taneja, the company has raised around USD 1.6 million from investors, including Franchise India Holdings, Rajiv Jalan and US-based angel investor Anubhav Chopra.

UClean said it will continue to focus on expanding in emerging international markets while strengthening its presence in regions witnessing growing demand for organised laundry services.
