“INDIAN VENTURE CAPITALISTS EMPHASISED THE NEED FOR ENHANCED COLLABORATION AND INTERACTION BETWEEN BUSINESSES AND START-UPS.”

At the Entrepreneur Annual Conclave 2022

New Delhi, 22nd September 2022: Entrepreneur Annual Conclave 2022 witnessed significant insights and key takeaways from entrepreneurs, investors, disruptors, and innovators as they discussed, debated, and dissected what the future holds in a vibrant atmosphere.

Venture capitalists stressed the necessity for collaboration between established companies and start-ups during the Entrepreneur Annual Conclave 2022. If they work together, the companies will eventually succeed and gain advantages.  “Consumers are seeking answers from companies to what they are doing for environment and planet. Those who are doing has a higher chance of success,” said Kanwaljit Singh, Founder and Managing Partner, Fireside Ventures. 

Therefore, the fundamental issue of siloed work needs to be addressed. Businesses should collaborate since one founder can genuinely help another founder more effectively; as a result, founders should get to know one another and engage in dialogue.

The Entrepreneur Annual Conclave 2022 was particularly helpful for those who wanted to learn about upcoming venture capital trends. The summit also covered the pain points of the integration of money and technology in a post-pandemic world.

Prominent speakers on day 2 of the conclave included Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, head of investment, India, Porus Ventures; Priyanka Gill, Co-Founder, The Good Glamm Group; Rajeev Chitrabhanu, Founder, Magnetic who shared some vaulable insights. 

The venture capitalists spoke on topics like Funding ’22: what start-ups can do to win over VC. The discussion covered which start-ups and sectors will still emerge victorious in raising funding in 2022 and beyond? How can start-ups up their game strategically to not feel the funding pinch? Would IPOs still retain their flavour and best practises for operational collaboration amongst startups?

“There are hundred types of funding and indicators changes with the situation. You need to understand what type of funding you need and the exact time to raise the fund is when you believe in the idea,” added Sharma of Porus Ventures.

 

The key speakers for the session were Ashutosh Sharma, Head of Investments, India, Prosus Ventures; Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, TDB; Rajeev Chitrabhanu, Founder, Magnetic; Sateesh Andra, Managing Director, Endiya Partners

It was followed by a session on the early stages of profitability with Mr. Amitava Saha, Co-Founder & CEO, Xpressbees, as the session speaker. “All founders and promoters should be very conscious about what you are building,” he added.

Other highlights of the conclave included a panel discussion on “From early stage to acquisition which shed light on the long path to acquisition and the journey. Wait for profitability or push for profitability? The session speakers included Ritesh Banglani, Partner, Stellaris; Jitendra Vijay, CEO, MeitY Startup Hub; Jatin Desai, co-Founder & Managing Partner, Inflexor Ventures; Dr. Ritesh Malik, Founder & Trustee, Plaksha University; Kunal Chowdhry, CEO & Executive Director, Apollo Singapore Investments Pte Ltd; Arjun Vaidya, Founder, Dr. Vaidya’s & Venture Lead, Verlinvest.

The conclave also covered the innovation strategies for growth with Priyanka Gill, Co-Founder – The Good Glamm Group as the session speaker; Money & Tech in a Post-Pandemic World

Another session covered was on whether digital adoption is here to stay? Emerging consumer trends and the opportunity for financial services firms to innovate in how they serve and deepen relationships with customers. Sunitha Viswanathan, Partner, Kae Capital; Ravinder Singh, Partner, Kalaari Capital; Ashish Mehrotra, MD & CEO, Northern Arc Capital and Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder, Venture Catalysts & 9Unicorns were the speakers for the session.

The VC Trends for 2022–2023 were also highlighted during the conclave. It threw insights on what are VCs looking for while investing in startups in 2022 and beyond? The Indian tech scene is growing faster than the tech scenes almost anywhere else in the world. Will the pace of growth hold or is it a cause for concern?
