
Noida International University (NIU) has secured global rankings in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings 2026 for its performance in sustainability, gender equality, healthcare, responsible resource management and global partnerships.
The rankings assess universities across the world based on their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NIU was placed in the 401–600 global band for SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), recognising its initiatives in sustainable resource management and environmentally responsible institutional practices.
The university also secured a ranking in the 601–800 band for SDG 5 (Gender Equality) for promoting equal opportunities, women’s empowerment and an inclusive campus environment.
For SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), NIU was ranked in the 801–1000 band, reflecting its work in healthcare education, medical research and community health initiatives.
In the overall THE Impact Rankings, the university was placed in the 1001–1500 band. It also received a 1001–1500 ranking for SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), recognising its collaborations with industry, academia, government and international institutions.
NIU Chairman Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh said the recognition reflects the university’s focus on combining academic excellence with sustainable and inclusive development.
Chancellor Dr. Vikram Singh said the rankings validate the institution’s efforts to integrate sustainability into academics, research, healthcare and community engagement while strengthening international collaborations.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj said the achievement was the result of the collective efforts of faculty, researchers, students and staff in promoting sustainability through teaching, research and institutional practices.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate universities on governance, research, teaching, outreach and stewardship, measuring their contribution towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
