
The Department of Anatomy at Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences successfully organised a Neuroanatomy Model Making Competition for first-year MBBS Batch 2025–26 students, highlighting both academic understanding and creative skills among aspiring doctors.
The competition witnessed participation from 150 MBBS students, divided into 25 groups, each assigned a neuroanatomy topic. The event was held in the Dissection Hall under the guidance of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Dr. S. N. Gupta, Dr. Ranjit Ghuliani and the Department of Anatomy.
The initiative aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of the nervous system through practical and visual learning, while also encouraging teamwork, innovation and presentation skills.
A panel comprising faculty members from clinical and paraclinical departments assessed the models on scientific accuracy, creativity and presentation.
The first prize was awarded to the group comprising Alyssa Goyal, Bhavya Sharma, Khushi Kumari, Prakruthi Jayapalsingh Samorekar, Shashank Agarwal and Varsha for their model on “Reflex Arc”. The second prize went to the group presenting “Medial Medullary Syndrome”, while the third prize was jointly shared by groups working on “Taste Pathway” and “Functional Areas of the Cerebral Hemisphere”.
Certificates were distributed to winners and participants by the institution’s senior leadership and Dean.
Dr. Manisha Jindal said activities such as the Neuroanatomy Model Competition help students develop conceptual clarity along with confidence and innovation.
“These activities show that MBBS students are not only sincere in their studies but also creative and artistic,” she said.
Dr. Pratishtha Potdar said the competition was designed to make neuroanatomy more engaging and application-oriented.
She also acknowledged the contributions of faculty members from the Department of Anatomy, including Dr. Anand, Dr. Tejinder, Dr. Durga, Dr. Kalyani, Dr. Mudassir, Dr. Abinav and Dr. Benazeer, for organising the event successfully.
