FHRAI Welcomes Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024-29 as a Game-Changer

The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has lauded the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024-29, calling it a transformative move to elevate the state as a premier global tourism hub. The policy grants “Industry Status” to the tourism and hospitality sector, offering fiscal incentives like 100% stamp duty reimbursements, capital subsidies, and operational benefits, including power at industrial rates and SGST reimbursements for up to 15 years.

With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the policy aims to attract ₹25,000 crore in private investments while boosting the room inventory from 3,500 to 10,000 under the classified category. It emphasizes eco-friendly initiatives such as zero-emission zones, Blue Flag-certified beaches, and green-certified accommodations. The policy also promotes skill development programs to empower local communities in areas like eco-tourism, hospitality, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

FHRAI President, Mr. K. Syama Raju, highlighted the policy’s potential to reduce operating costs, encourage investments, and enhance the state’s appeal through thematic circuits, including beach tourism, eco-tourism, and Buddhist heritage trails.

By aligning infrastructure upgrades, sustainable practices, and private investment with community welfare, Andhra Pradesh aims to transform tourism’s contribution to the state’s economy and employment. FHRAI commended the state for setting a benchmark for other states to emulate, envisioning Andhra Pradesh as a dynamic leader in India’s tourism landscape.
