FHRAI Organises ‘Harit Yoga’ Session with Ministry of Ayush Support to Promote Wellness and Sustainability

The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in collaboration with the Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts & Design (BKCCAD) and with the support of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, successfully hosted a special ‘Harit Yoga’ session at BKCCAD in Greater Kailash, New Delhi. The initiative aimed to blend wellness with environmental consciousness, reinforcing a shared vision of holistic health and sustainable living.

The event promoted the principles of wellness and ecological harmony through yoga, aligning with India’s broader emphasis on sustainability and preventive health. Harit Yoga is one of the ten flagship initiatives envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, symbolising the confluence of individual well-being and environmental responsibility.

As part of the initiative, saplings were distributed to all participants—a symbolic gesture of growth, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. This act highlighted the session’s message of fostering personal and collective commitment to a greener planet.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Blossom Kochhar, Chairperson of Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies, who led the opening yoga session.

Harit Yoga is not just an exercise, but a lifestyle. It encourages a deeper connection with our body, mind, and the environment. Through this initiative, we hope to nurture mindfulness and ecological awareness in every participant,” said Dr. Kochhar.

Ms. Samantha Kochhar, Managing Director of the Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies, emphasized the importance of integrating wellness into creative disciplines.

At BKCCAD, we believe creativity blossoms in a healthy, conscious body. Harit Yoga is a timely reminder that balance and self-care are essential companions to artistic expression,” she noted.

Representing FHRAI, Ms. Payal Swami, Assistant Secretary General, underscored the relevance of wellness within the hospitality sector.

With increasing stress and lifestyle-related issues, initiatives like Harit Yoga play a key role in encouraging hospitality professionals to prioritise their well-being and that of their guests,” she stated.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, wellness practitioners, and professionals from the hospitality industry. FHRAI reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that nurture a healthier and more sustainable India.
