Galgotias University Hosts Yamanashi Delegation, Signs Agreements on Talent and Green Hydrogen

Galgotias University hosted a 200-member delegation from Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, led by Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, with discussions focused on academic collaboration, talent mobility, healthcare education and green hydrogen research.

The visit included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Yamanashi Prefectural Government and a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the University of Yamanashi. The agreements are aimed at facilitating student and faculty collaboration, skilling, talent mobility and joint research in clean energy.

Senior officials from Yamanashi Prefecture and Uttar Pradesh attended the programme, including Vice-Governor Junichi Ishidera, Advisor to the Government of Yamanashi Prefecture Neerendra Upadhyaya, Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Jewar MLA Dhirender Singh and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh. Galgotias University CEO Dhruv Galgotia and Chancellor Suneel Galgotia were also present.

The delegation participated in separate group sessions on green hydrogen, nursing and health sciences, and student interactions. Discussions on green hydrogen covered potential cooperation in research, technology development, and student and researcher exchanges related to clean energy and low-carbon mobility.

Another group visited the university’s Digital Nursing Skills and Simulation Centre, while the delegation also toured Centres of Excellence and laboratories covering areas such as iOS development, artificial intelligence, drone technology and semiconductors.

A presentation by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) highlighted opportunities for industry and talent partnerships between Yamanashi and Uttar Pradesh.

Dhruv Galgotia said the agreements would support student global career opportunities and research collaboration with Japan in clean energy.

Suneel Galgotia said the partnership reflected the broader India-Japan relationship and could create opportunities for students and researchers.

The two sides said they would work towards implementing student exchanges, faculty collaboration, skilling initiatives and joint research programmes in the coming months.
