Indus Towers Limited has appointed Venkatesh Tiwari as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026, as part of a planned leadership transition, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The appointment forms part of the company’s senior management personnel (SMP). Tiwari will succeed current COO Tejinder Singh Kalra, who is set to retire on August 31, 2026.
According to the company, the transition is aimed at ensuring continuity in leadership and operational stability.
Tiwari brings nearly 28 years of experience across sectors including e-commerce, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and logistics. He is currently associated with Amazon, where he has held multiple leadership roles and contributed to business growth initiatives.
At Amazon, he led functions such as Amazon Now, Seller Fulfilment, and third-party logistics (3PL) channels. He was involved in launching quick commerce offerings in India and managing large cross-functional teams across delivery operations, grocery services, and logistics networks. He also played a role in expanding delivery coverage across the country and strengthening operational capabilities.
Prior to Amazon, Tiwari has worked with companies including Samsung, Airtel, and Perfetti, handling roles across operations, customer service, and sales and marketing.
He holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications from BIT Mesra and an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.
Indus Towers, one of India’s telecom infrastructure providers, said the leadership change aligns with its long-term business strategy.
