THIP, IACFM partner to launch digital education programme on adult vaccination

The Healthy Indian Project (THIP) and the Indian Association of Community and Family Medicine (IACFM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an evidence-based digital patient education programme on adult vaccination.

The initiative aims to improve awareness about adult immunisation, strengthen health literacy and encourage preventive healthcare practices across the country.

According to the organisations, the programme will focus on vaccines recommended for adults, including those for influenza, pneumococcal disease, shingles and hepatitis B. It is intended to address the low awareness of adult vaccination despite the success of childhood immunisation programmes in India.

Under the partnership, IACFM will provide scientific guidance, academic oversight and clinical expertise to ensure the programme is based on current medical evidence and public health recommendations. THIP Academy will develop the digital learning content, including multilingual lessons, interactive assessments and educational resources, and deliver it through its online platform.

The programme will be offered as a self-paced Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) featuring expert-led video sessions, practical guidance and downloadable study material. It will also include pre-course and post-course assessments to evaluate learning outcomes and encourage informed discussions between patients and healthcare professionals.

Dr. Ria Roy, President of IACFM, said improving awareness about adult vaccination is an important part of preventive healthcare and that the collaboration aims to make reliable information more accessible to the public.

Sudipta Sengupta, CEO of THIP, said the partnership is intended to help people make informed healthcare decisions through structured and evidence-based patient education.

THIP is an evidence-based health literacy organisation and a member of the World Health Organization’s Vaccine Safety Net (VSN). IACFM is a national professional body working to promote family medicine, community medicine and preventive healthcare through education and research.
