Indian Audio Brand Wins Global Honour at CES 2026 for New Headphone Technology

India-based deep-tech firm Rapture Innovation Labs has won the CES Innovation Awards 2026 in the Headphones and Personal Audio category for its Sonic Lamb Gen 2 headphones, the company said on Monday.

The award, presented by the Consumer Technology Association at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, recognises outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products worldwide.

The company said the recognition highlights its patented “Impulse Driver” technology that delivers low-frequency audio as controlled mechanical impulses around the ears, allowing users to physically feel bass rather than only hearing it.

According to the company, the Sonic Lamb Gen 2 headphones combine conventional air-conduction sound with body-conducted mechanical impulses to create an immersive listening experience similar to a live concert or subwoofer-driven sound system, while maintaining safe listening volumes.

The award-winning platform converts sub-bass frequencies into physical vibrations through a proprietary transducer system and aims to create what the company described as a new category of immersive headphones.

Navajith Karkera, co-founder and chief executive officer of Rapture Innovation Labs, said the recognition validates the company’s vision of redefining personal audio through hardware-led innovation.

“Winning the CES Innovation Award is an incredible validation of our belief that sound can be experienced in a completely new way,” he said.

The company, co-founded by Karkera and Jagath Biddappa, focuses on developing proprietary audio technologies aimed at advancing immersive listening experiences.

The official citation from the Consumer Technology Association noted that Sonic Lamb Gen 2 converts low-frequency audio into physical vibrations, delivering subwoofer-like bass while combining air-conduction sound with patented impulse transmission technology.
