India hosts first IFLA Global Studio Program at VESCOA Mumbai

The Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA) has announced the first IFLA Global Studio Program (GSP) in India, being held at Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Architecture (VESCOA), Mumbai, from November 8 to 12. The initiative precedes the IFLA Asia Pacific Regional Congress 2025, scheduled for November 14–15 at the Jio World Convention Centre.

The Global Studio Program brings together students of landscape architecture from India and abroad for a design charrette titled “Reimagining Urban Landscapes: Negotiating Mumbai’s Paradoxes.” The workshop focuses on addressing challenges related to ecology, growth, and urban design.

ISOLA President Urmila Rajadhyaksha said the program provides a platform for international collaboration on urban resilience. VESCOA Principal Dr. Anand Achari said the event encourages academic dialogue on Mumbai’s changing landscape.

The program is supported by the Soonabai Pirojsha Godrej Foundation. Sustainability specialist Tejashree Joshi highlighted the importance of integrating environmental awareness into design practice.
