3rd Trans Employment Mela Set for June 18 in Delhi, Targets 100 Jobs for Trans and Non-Binary Candidates

The 3rd edition of the Trans Employment Mela will take place on June 18, 2025, in New Delhi, aiming to facilitate 100 job placements for transgender and non-binary individuals. Organised by the TWEET Foundation and InHarmony, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), the event is a continued push toward equitable employment and social dignity.

Following the success of its previous editions—77 placements in 2024 and 58 in 2023—the Mela has grown into a vital national platform for inclusive hiring. It brings together public and private sector employers, inclusion advocates, and community leaders to address systemic barriers in the job market.

Abhina Aher, Founder of TWEET Foundation, said, “The Mela goes beyond employment—it’s a statement of inclusion, dignity, and rightful representation in the economy. It’s time transgender persons are recognised for their potential, not marginalised.”

Anupama Easwaran, Founder of InHarmony, added, “This isn’t just about hiring—it’s about shifting workplace culture and valuing authenticity. The Mela opens doors to meaningful careers and dialogue around inclusion.”

Maya Awasthy, Co-Founder of TWEET Foundation, noted, “From 58 to 77 placements, we’ve seen the difference dignified employment makes. Our 2025 goal of 100 placements reflects not just ambition but urgency.”

The announcement was made at TWEET Foundation’s annual celebrations, attended by over 300 community members, allies, and dignitaries. This year’s Mela will include job interviews, networking, sensitisation workshops, panel discussions, and performances by trans artists.

The event will also highlight the rise of transgender entrepreneurs, celebrating their achievements across industries. Publicis Sapient returns as Platinum Sponsor, with P&G and Hexaware joining as Gold Sponsors.
