FedEx Partners with Akshaya Patra Foundation for Sustainable Impact in India

Mumbai, April 30, 2024 – FedEx, a global logistics leader, announces its continued collaboration with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a key partner in the PM POSHAN program aimed at providing nutritious meals to Indian school children. This partnership underscores FedEx’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development, striving to positively influence communities and the environment.

FedEx’s contribution includes the donation of seven electric vehicles to The Akshaya Patra Foundation in Panvel, Delhi, and Narsingi. This transition from fuel-based to electric vehicles enhances meal distribution efficiency, enabling the foundation to focus more resources on its core mission while reducing its carbon footprint. Additionally, FedEx supported the provision of mid-day meals for 550,000 children.

The collaboration introduces electric vehicles for meal distribution and administrative purposes, bolstering advocacy efforts for the Mid-Day Meal program. Since 2022, FedEx has supported various sustainable initiatives with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, such as installing solar panels in Panvel, distributing electric bikes in Bellary, and providing over 137,000 mid-day meals to children in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
