DXC Technology Awards Progressing Minds Scholarship 2023-24 to 310 girls in STEM and Sports
DXC Technology announces that they’ve given scholarships to 310 amazing girls for the academic year 2023–24. These scholarships are part of the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program. Out of these, 260 girls are being supported in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), while 50 girls are being recognized for their achievements in sports.
The scholarship program received over 10,000 applications from girls all over India. Among the recipients, 291 come from families with an annual income of less than ₹1,00,000. Girls studying STEM subjects will receive ₹50,000 each, while those excelling in sports will get ₹1,25,000.
The selection process was rigorous, with 2,260 girls shortlisted for STEM and 425 for sports. Eventually, 310 girls were chosen based on their achievements and eligibility.
Lokendra Sethi, Vice-President of Human Resources at DXC Technology, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response to the program. He emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting girls from all backgrounds in pursuing their education and sports dreams.
Ashutosh Burnwal, Founder and CEO of Buddy4Study, praised the partnership with DXC Technology for this initiative. He highlighted the importance of providing financial assistance to girls in accessing education and pursuing their athletic goals.
Most of the scholarship recipients come from families with limited income, and many are from single-parent households. In the sports category, 35 girls have achieved top rankings in various sports at national and international levels.
These girls represent diverse regions of India, with Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh having the highest number of awardees. The STEM scholars come from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs.
