Youdha Launches Epod Electric Three-Wheeler in L5 Passenger Segment

Youdha, a new brand in India’s electric vehicle market, has launched the Youdha Epod, a next-generation L5 category electric passenger three-wheeler. With this entry, the company joins the ranks of established players such as Mahindra, Bajaj, and TVS in the commercial EV segment.

The L5 category, comprising road-compliant, high-performance electric three-wheelers, is gaining traction due to rising fuel costs, last-mile delivery demand, and government-backed EV incentives. The Youdha Epod is designed to address these needs with key features including a range of 227 km (as per Homologation Certificate), 11.8 kWh lithium-ion LFP battery, 6 kW motor, 55 Nm torque, City/Boost drive modes, and 300 mm water-wading capacity.

The vehicle is being manufactured at Youdha’s state-of-the-art plant in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, with a production capacity of 1,00,000 units annually. The facility features patented Autophoretic Dip coating, advanced assembly lines, vehicle testing systems, and quality control aligned with global standards.

Initial rollout is underway in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam, chosen for their high EV adoption potential and dense three-wheeler usage. A national expansion is planned in phases.

“We’re not just offering a vehicle—we’re offering economic empowerment,” said Ayush Lohia, CEO, Youdha. “With Youdha Epod, we’ve blended robust performance with aspirational identity, keeping the Indian driver’s needs at the center.”

Youdha is a repositioned brand from the legacy Lohia Group, among India’s earliest electric vehicle manufacturers. The name “Youdha,” derived from the Sanskrit word Yodha (warrior), reflects the company’s vision to empower mobility entrepreneurs with pride and purpose.

The company plans to expand into cargo EVs and aims to reach a revenue milestone of ₹1,000 crore by 2030.
