VLSID 2025 Showcases India’s Semiconductor Leadership with Global Experts

The 38th International Conference on VLSI Design and 24th International Conference on Embedded Systems (VLSID 2025), organized by the VLSI Society of India (VSI), was inaugurated at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru. Themed “Silicon Meets AI: Sustainable Innovations in Accelerated Computing, Secure Connectivity & Intelligent Mobility,” the event brought together over 2,700 attendees, including global semiconductor leaders and government dignitaries.

Keynote speaker Dr. Chris Miller, author of Chip War: The Fight for the World’s Most Critical Technology, headlined the event with an engaging fireside chat moderated by VSI President, Dr. Satya Gupta. Discussions covered India’s semiconductor roadmap, groundbreaking research in AI-driven hardware, and advancements in quantum computing and neuromorphic systems.

The conference featured 18 keynotes, 74 research papers, 5 expert panels, and 50 exhibits, emphasizing the transformative role of semiconductors in AI, IoT, and electric vehicles. Industry leaders Patrick Johnson (Microchip Technology), Sandeep Bharathi (Marvell Technology), and Hitesh Garg (NXP Semiconductors) highlighted AI’s integration with semiconductor design and its potential to revolutionize mobility and connectivity.

VLSID 2025 also underscored India’s flagship initiatives like Digital India, Make in India, and Startup India, showcasing the nation’s rising prominence in the global semiconductor ecosystem. The event facilitated networking among industry leaders, academia, and startups, fostering innovation and talent development critical to driving India’s semiconductor ambitions.
