The Vietnam National Archery Team conducted a nearly three-week training camp at Galgotias University as part of its preparations for the Asian Games 2027. The camp began on September 1 and concluded on September 20.
The Vietnamese contingent comprised five archers and two coaches. The delegation included male archers Dang Cong Duc, Tran Xuan Huong and Nguyen Van Day, and women archers Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao and Le Thuy Phuong Nhi. Coaches Richpal Singh Salaria and Do Van Duy accompanied the team.
The camp adds to Galgotias University’s recent sporting engagements. Earlier this year, the university hosted national coaching camps for India’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams ahead of international competitions.
Galgotias University students have also recorded international results. At the inaugural World Yogasana Championship 2026 in Ahmedabad, three students representing India won a combined five Gold Medals across various categories.
Dr Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, said hosting international teams reflects the university’s focus on creating an environment where high-performance sport can develop alongside academics.
The Vietnam team’s presence also provided students and athletes with an opportunity to engage with international competitors and coaches, adding an international dimension to the university’s sporting ecosystem.
