Vashi Parivaar Foundation, the CSR arm of Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd, has launched a tailoring skills development programme for women from families of Indian Army personnel in Mumbai.
The programme began with an initial batch of 30 women at the Vocational Training Centre under the Colaba Army Unit. It will run for six months, followed by a government-recognised examination, the foundation said.
The initiative is being implemented in partnership with Naigaum Social Service Society, which is serving as the knowledge partner.
The programme aims to equip participants with practical tailoring skills to support employment, self-employment and additional household income. Successful trainees will receive a certificate under the Maharashtra State Vocational Training framework, according to the foundation.
Shweta Dodeja, Managing Director of Vashi Parivaar Foundation and CSR Head at Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd, said the initiative was an opportunity to support the families of Army personnel.
The foundation said the programme forms part of its broader efforts to promote vocational training, women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. It is designed to help participants explore income-generating opportunities while managing family responsibilities and the mobility associated with military service.
