University of Birmingham Opens £10,000 Chancellor’s Scholarship for Indian Postgraduate Students

The University of Birmingham has announced the India Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship, offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for Indian students enrolling in full-time Master’s programmes at its UK campus beginning September 2026.

The scholarship is aimed at supporting high-achieving Indian students pursuing postgraduate studies and reducing the financial burden of overseas education. The initiative is part of the university’s broader engagement with India and its efforts to attract academically strong candidates to its programmes.

Professor Mark Lee, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (India), University of Birmingham, said the scholarship recognises the academic ambition and global outlook of Indian students and seeks to support their professional development through international exposure.

To be eligible, applicants must be domiciled in India, hold and have accepted an offer for a postgraduate programme at the university, and have paid the required admission deposit. Candidates must also demonstrate their ability to cover living expenses and any remaining tuition fees not covered by the award.

The application deadline is May 31, 2026. Applications for the September 2026 intake are currently open.

Further details on eligibility criteria and the application process are available on the university’s official website.
