The University of Birmingham has announced a new Future Skills Scholarship programme offering awards of up to £12,500 for Indian students enrolling in selected future-focused Master’s degrees at its UK campus.
The scholarship aims to help students build career-ready skills aligned with the changing needs of the global workforce. It is part of the university’s broader commitment to invest more than £3 million in international students, with a continued focus on graduate employability. The institution is frequently ranked among the top universities targeted by leading graduate employers, according to High Fliers Research.
The initiative focuses on developing key competencies such as data literacy, digital capability, systems thinking and policy awareness. The university said these skills are increasingly important as industries adapt to technological change, demographic shifts and global challenges.
The scholarships are open to students domiciled in India who plan to begin full-time study in September 2026.
Eligible programmes include MSc Business Analytics, MSc Marketing, MSc Data Science, MSc Advanced Engineering Management, MPH Public Health, MSc Molecular Biotechnology, MA International Relations and most LLM programmes, except the LLM in Energy and Environmental Law (Distance Learning).
Professor Mark Lee, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (India) at the University of Birmingham, said the scholarship reinforces the university’s commitment to supporting Indian students in accessing world-class education and developing skills for future industries.
The application deadline is April 30, 2026. Further details on eligibility and the application process are available on the University of Birmingham website.
