Actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood attended the Installation and Pinning Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Galgotias University as Chief Guest, encouraging students to understand community needs and contribute to society.
Reflecting on his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent community initiatives, Sood urged students to identify issues around them and find practical ways to support others.
“I would have loved to study at a university like Galgotias,” Sood said while interacting with students. He also participated in a fireside chat during the event.
The ceremony marked the transition to the Rotaract Club’s 2026-27 leadership and included the Four-Way Test, Change of Guard and Collaring Ceremony, oath-taking and installation of the Board of Directors.
Dr Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, said Sood’s work offered students an example of community service and encouraged them to contribute through sustained initiatives.
Following the ceremony, Sood visited the university’s iOS Development Centre and interacted with student developers at App Fair 2026.
According to the university, students from three cohorts have launched 84 applications on the App Store, while more than 20 additional apps are under development and three student-led startups have emerged from the programme.
The initiative is part of the iOS Student Developer Program, powered by Apple and Infosys.
