Skye Air partners Arrive AI, Ottonomy to showcase autonomous drone-to-doorstep delivery

Today at the India AI Impact Summit, Skye Air Mobility, India’s leading hyperlocal drone delivery platform, announced a strategic partnership with Arrive AI and Ottonomy to demonstrate the world’s first end-to-end autonomous commerce delivery system. This solution integrates Skye Air’s aerial drones with smart infrastructure and ground robotics to deliver packages directly to customers’ doorsteps without human intervention.

Skye Air Mobility brings extensive experience to the partnership, having completed 3.6 million deliveries over the past two years. The company said this reflects the maturity of its drone delivery technology in real-world conditions.

The company’s operations have also had environmental impact. Its drone delivery network has saved over 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions compared to traditional delivery methods. By replacing road-based courier vehicles with electric aerial drones, Skye Air aims to support more sustainable logistics and urban transportation.

At the core of its delivery capability is the company’s flagship drone, engineered for urban logistics. The drone has a payload capacity of up to 10 kilograms and is designed for applications ranging from retail goods and groceries to medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.

Key specifications of Skye Air’s flagship drone include:

  • 10 kg payload capacity
  • Precision drop capability
  • Extended flight range for urban environments
  • All-weather operational capability
  • Advanced battery management for efficiency

The company’s proprietary AI-based aerial traffic management platform, Skye UTM, provides airspace management for drone operations in metropolitan environments.

Skye UTM features:

  • Real-time airspace monitoring
  • Collision avoidance with dynamic path recalculation
  • Route optimisation based on weather and traffic conditions
  • Integration with civil aviation systems
  • Fleet management and mission control

Under the partnership, packages transported by Skye Air drones will be transferred at Arrive AI’s smart Arrive Points, where Ottonomy’s ground robots will complete the last-mile delivery to customers’ doorsteps.

The companies plan month-long live demonstrations across technology hubs in Gurgaon and Bengaluru.

Ankit Kumar, Founder & CEO of Skye Air Mobility, said completing 3.6 million deliveries while saving 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions shows drone delivery is scalable. Arrive AI CEO Dan O’Toole said the infrastructure enables seamless transfer between aerial and ground systems. Ottonomy CEO Ritukar Vijay said autonomous robots will extend deliveries to end customers.

The companies said the integrated system aims to enable faster and lower-emission urban logistics as deployment scales.
