River, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched an industry-first initiative to strengthen customer trust and reliability. The company announced an 8-year / 80,000 km extended warranty program for the battery and motor of its flagship electric scooter, the River Indie.
The warranty will be available from October 1 for both new bookings and existing customers. Owners who previously opted for River’s 5-year extended warranty can upgrade to the new program within a limited one-month window.
Priced at ₹8,399 + GST for new buyers and ₹3,399 + GST for existing 5-year warranty holders, the plan covers the scooter’s most critical components. It ensures protection if the battery’s State of Health (SOH) falls below 70% or if the motor becomes non-functional despite repairs.

River currently operates 32 stores across 15 cities, including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Visakhapatnam. Recent expansions in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum mark the company’s growing footprint. By 2026, River plans to be present in all major Indian cities through company-owned outlets and dealership partners.
