Pure Love’s Fake Wedding, a Kitty Su pop-up intellectual property (IP), is set to arrive in the capital on 17 January at The LaLiT New Delhi’s 24/7 Bar, in collaboration with Rainbow India and Rainbow Delhi. The event will begin at 9 PM onwards.
Having previously travelled across cities including Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata and Chandigarh, Pure Love’s Fake Wedding has emerged as a prominent queer-led cultural night, blending celebration, performance and community engagement. The Delhi edition continues this journey, bringing the experience to a new audience in the capital.
Inspired by the traditional Indian wedding format, the Fake Wedding reimagines familiar shaadi elements—such as music, décor, rituals and festivities—through a contemporary and inclusive lens. The event features immersive wedding-style décor, dhol-led processions, mehendi artists and reinterpreted rituals designed to foster visibility, belonging and collective celebration.
The evening will showcase performances by a lineup of queer artists and performers, including Veronica, Lush Monsoon, Fardish, Betta Naan Stop, Wacker Cracker, Hash Brownie and Mysterious Munda, with DJ Triangle Edge leading the night’s musical journey.
Commenting on the Delhi edition, Aashin Moitra, General Manager, Kitty Su India, said that the Fake Wedding was created as a space of affirmation where queer relationships are celebrated with the same joy and respect as any other love story. He added that the format reflects the community’s ongoing pursuit of visibility and shared cultural expression.
Hosted at The LaLiT New Delhi, known for its long-standing support of the LGBTQIA+ community, the event reinforces Kitty Su and Pure Love’s commitment to using nightlife as a platform for culture, storytelling and social engagement.
