Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) today from Guwahati in Assam. Under the scheme, approximately ₹18,640 crore will be transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to the bank accounts of around 9.32 crore eligible farmer families across the country.
Through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, an amount of ₹2,000 per installment will be credited directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and eliminating intermediaries in the welfare distribution process.
Farmers will be able to check the latest PM-KISAN beneficiary list online to confirm whether they will receive the payment under the 22nd installment. The government has enabled farmers to access this information through the official PM-KISAN portal, eliminating the need to visit government offices.
Using a mobile phone, farmers can easily verify their names as well as the complete list of beneficiaries from their village directly on the portal.
Experts say the PM-Kisan scheme has become a major pillar of India’s digital welfare delivery system, helping strengthen rural financial inclusion and promoting adoption of digital financial services at the grassroots level.
BLS E-Services Limited, through its extensive Business Correspondent (BC) network and banking partnerships, has been supporting last-mile access to banking and digital financial services in rural areas.
Commenting on the development, Lokanath Panda, COO, BLS E-Services, said the upcoming release of the installment reflects the government’s continued efforts to support rural livelihoods.
“The 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme, to be released today by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, reflects the government’s continued commitment toward supporting rural livelihoods. With ₹18,640 crore set to be transferred to 9.32 crore farmers, the scheme reinforces the importance of Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) in ensuring timely and transparent financial support for the agricultural community,” Panda said.
He added that over the past five years, PM-Kisan has played a significant role in encouraging digital adoption at the grassroots level through initiatives such as e-KYC completion, Aadhaar-bank linkage, and digitisation of land records, which are crucial for smooth benefit disbursal.
The PM-Kisan scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments. Since its launch in 2019, it has become one of the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer programmes, aimed at strengthening financial inclusion and digital governance in rural India.
