Mobile Health Initiative by Narayana Health and Volvo Rolls Out Cervical Cancer Screening

Narayana Health, in partnership with Volvo Group India and supported by Karnataka’s Department of Health and Family Welfare, has crossed a major milestone under its ‘Wellness on Wheels’ initiative—completing 75 mobile health camps and screening over 8,600 individuals across rural Karnataka.

Now entering its third year, the initiative aims to bring diagnostic services to underserved communities, guided by Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder-Chairman of Narayana Health. The latest advancement includes the launch of mobile colposcopy screening for early detection of cervical cancer—a leading cancer among Indian women, with over 4,500 new cases reported annually in Karnataka alone.

“Timely detection can save lives. We are bringing essential health services closer to people’s homes, especially in remote areas,” said Dr. Uthappa P M, Group Chief Medical Director, Narayana Health.

The mobile clinics offer ECGs, echocardiograms, mammograms, blood tests, X-rays, colposcopy, and free doctor consultations. So far, around 4–5% of individuals screened have been referred for early medical intervention.

Volvo Group India’s Mr. G V Rao added, “This milestone reflects our shared vision—bridging healthcare gaps through innovative mobility solutions.”

Phase One has covered all taluk centres in nine districts. Phase Two will move to hobli-level outreach, followed by gram panchayat coverage in Phase Three.

All diagnostic services are accredited by NABH, JCI, NABL, and CAP, ensuring global standards. The public is encouraged to participate and adopt preventive healthcare practices for better long-term well-being.
