Meridian Flight Systems Joins Altair’s Aerospace Startup Acceleration Program

Meridian Flight Systems has joined the Altair Aerospace Startup Acceleration Program (ASAP) to leverage Altair’s cutting-edge simulation, data analytics, and high-performance computing (HPC) software for its advanced aviation projects. This collaboration will aid in the development of Corra UAV, a heavy-lift unmanned aerial vehicle, and HERMES, the Hybrid Electric Range-Extending Microturbine Energy System.

Altair’s senior vice president of aerospace and defense, Pietro Cervellera, expressed enthusiasm about Meridian’s addition to the program, highlighting the potential breakthroughs in UAV technology. Meanwhile, Saïf-Deen Akanni, CEO & CTO of Meridian Flight Systems, emphasized the role of Altair’s software in accelerating HERMES’ development toward airworthiness certification and operational readiness.
