Prof. Dr. Raj Nagarkar, Managing Director and Chief of Surgical Oncology & Robotic Services at HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC), has achieved a major medical milestone by completing 2,000 robotic-assisted cancer surgeries. This marks the fastest known progress of its scale in robotic oncology in India, following his previous record of 1,500 surgeries earlier this year.

Dr. Nagarkar performed the landmark 2,000th surgery using the Versius Robotic System. Over the past decade, he has carried out advanced minimally invasive surgeries for prostate, colorectal, lung, oesophageal, cervical and other cancers, reducing pain, blood loss and recovery time for patients.

Dr. Nagarkar has completed over 1,00,000 surgeries in total, treating patients from more than 15 countries. HCGMCC continues to adopt cutting-edge technologies including AI-based cancer detection tools, precision therapies and gene-based treatments, making advanced care accessible in Nashik.

“We are proving that world-class treatment doesn’t need to be limited to big cities. Our goal is to bring innovation and compassionate cancer care closer to every patient,” said Dr. Nagarkar.
