The HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC), in collaboration with the Women of Wisdom (W.O.W.) Group, organized the fifth edition of its annual Pink Mela, an event aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness through an engaging mix of education, entertainment, and community participation.
Held earlier this month at the HCG Manavata Cancer Centre, the event featured acclaimed actress Sonali Kulkarni as the Chief Guest, who interacted with participants and encouraged open discussions on women’s health and early cancer detection.
According to Prof. Dr. Raj Nagarkar, Chief of Surgical Oncology & Robotic Services and Managing Director, KIMS Manavata Hospitals, “Awareness is our strongest weapon in the fight against breast cancer. Early detection increases survival chances by up to 80 percent. Regular check-ups and a healthy lifestyle are crucial to improving outcomes.”
The event drew strong participation from women across Nashik, with competitions such as the Pink Mission Competition, Akash Kandil Competition, and Toran Competition, followed by prize distributions. A dedicated shopping festival and exhibition area also provided a platform for local women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, blending health awareness with economic empowerment.
Entertainment formed a key part of the day’s celebrations, featuring comedy performances, interactive games, and dance acts. The event was attended by Dr. Raj Nagarkar, Dr. Pranita Sanghavi, Mrs. Prarthana Nagarkar, and Ashwini Nyaharkar, Founder of the W.O.W. Group, along with several community members and healthcare professionals.
