Hotel Association of India and The Lalit Suri Hospitality School have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch an ‘Image & Life Skills Lab’ aimed at strengthening soft skills training for hospitality professionals.
The agreement was formalised on April 22 at the institute’s Faridabad campus in the presence of Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The initiative introduces a 10-day professional development programme focused on interpersonal and communication skills, which are considered critical in the hospitality sector.
According to the organisers, the collaboration is non-commercial in nature. While HAI will focus on outreach and industry integration, TLSHS will lead programme delivery using its faculty and campus infrastructure.
Participants completing the programme will receive joint certification from both institutions, aimed at improving employability and industry readiness.
Speaking at the event, Shekhawat said the collaboration could help create industry-ready professionals and support employment generation in the hospitality sector. He added that tourism and hospitality would play a key role in India’s long-term economic growth.
HAI President K. B. Kachru said the initiative seeks to address skill gaps by focusing on communication and interpersonal capabilities required in a service-driven industry.
Jyotsna Suri said the programme aims to build confidence and industry readiness among students, alongside technical training.
Senior representatives from both organisations and member hotels attended the event, which included a campus tour and interactions with students and faculty.
