Gurugram Comic Con concluded its inaugural edition with a footfall of over 22,000 visitors, marking the city’s first large-scale pop culture convention and signalling growing interest in comics, anime and gaming among urban audiences.
Held over two days at the Gymkhana Club Ground, the event brought together comic readers, gamers, cosplayers and creators, with attendees exploring artist alleys, graphic novel showcases, gaming arenas and live stage sessions.
Organised by NODWIN Gaming, the convention featured creator interactions, live performances and brand activations. International comic artist Raymund Bermudez participated alongside Indian illustrators, discussing storytelling and visual design.
Sessions on animation and mythology-based storytelling, including discussions around “Mahavatar Narasimha”, also drew audience interest. Live performances and comedy acts by artists such as Ikka, Jaspreet Singh and Onkar Yadav were among the highlights.
Cosplay remained a major attraction, with more than 250 participants competing in contests across both days. Characters from global franchises such as Spider-Man, Batman and Naruto Uzumaki were recreated by participants.
The Indian Championship of Cosplay (Gurugram Qualifier) concluded with Vandana Sharma winning the title and securing a place in the ICC Finals 2026.
According to organisers, the event reflects the expanding footprint of India’s pop culture ecosystem, particularly in cities like Gurugram with a young, globally connected audience.
