Green India Polymers (GIP), a leading PET and HDPE recycling company, has partnered with North America-based Meridian Polycorp Ltd in a USD 40 million, three-year collaboration to export 40,000 MT of PET flakes. This strategic alliance aims to drive sustainability, reduce plastic waste, and support underprivileged communities through responsible recycling practices.
Under the agreement, Meridian will be the exclusive global distributor of GIP’s recycled PET flakes. With an annual recycling capacity of 8,000 MT, GIP has already exported over 40,000 MT to key markets, including the U.S., Mexico, Germany, Morocco, and Malaysia. Meridian, with over 40 years of industry expertise, supplies plastic raw materials to major multinational companies worldwide.
The partnership aligns with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) goals, focusing on reducing plastic pollution, alleviating poverty, and increasing ocean diversion efforts.
Amit Mani, Founder & MD of GIP, emphasized their mission to expand global access to high-quality recycled materials and foster a circular economy. Rajiv Shah, CEO of Meridian, highlighted their shared vision for sustainability and long-term value creation in emerging markets.
Beyond recycling, the initiative supports women’s empowerment through education and economic opportunities. “Women are the true nurturers of our society,” added Shah.
This collaboration marks a major step in responsible recycling, benefiting both the environment and vulnerable communities.
