The Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) has activated GRAP 4 (Graded Response Action Plan Level 4) in response to a significant decline in air quality levels. This decision comes as pollution levels in the region reached hazardous levels, prompting immediate action to safeguard public health.
Under GRAP 4, several restrictions have been enforced to combat the worsening air quality. These include limitations on construction and demolition activities, a ban on the use of diesel generators, and increased monitoring of industrial emissions. Additionally, the authorities are encouraging residents to minimize outdoor activities and use public transport whenever possible.
The decision to implement GRAP 4 highlights the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address the persistent air pollution issue in Delhi-NCR. Environmental experts are urging residents to take precautions and stay informed about air quality updates. The authorities are expected to review the situation regularly and take further measures as needed to improve air quality in the region
