In a heartening celebration of active ageing, Manasum Senior Living Homes, in collaboration with Vayah Vikas, powered the Senior Citizens’ Run at the TCS World 10K 2025. Held at Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground, the 3-km non-timed walk/run drew over 1,700 spirited seniors who showcased energy, joy, and a strong sense of community.
The event was flagged off by former Indian hockey player Sandeep Somesh, whose presence inspired participants to embrace the moment with pride. Manasum’s founders—Mr. Anantharam Varayur, Mrs. Sumathy, and Kushal Ramesh—actively walked and ran alongside the seniors, with Mr. Anantharam drawing applause for participating in traditional dhoti attire.
To enhance the experience, Manasum hosted a lively lucky draw offering a Lenovo tablet as the bumper prize, along with smartwatches and complimentary trial stays at Manasum Banyan, its flagship senior living residence. A digital photobooth, energetic Zumba warm-up, and cheerful placards like “We are the Class of ’30s” and “Quitting Ain’t My Cup of Kaapi” added to the festive atmosphere.
Participants received branded T-shirts and commemorative medals. Vayah Vikas also honoured the oldest runners—one aged 94—as well as groups like Laughter Clubs, RWAs, and Yoga Associations with special awards for largest participation.
Mr. Anantharam Varayur reflected, “This event is a celebration of life after 60. At Manasum, we’re proud to support seniors in living with vibrancy and purpose.”
Manasum remains committed to creating joyful, connected experiences for seniors through such meaningful community initiatives.
