Ebix Risk Launches AI-Powered COI Compliance Platform for Vendor Risk Management

Ebix Risk has launched the next generation of its certificate of insurance (COI) compliance platform, introducing artificial intelligence-driven capabilities aimed at improving vendor risk management and compliance resolution processes.

The new platform, called Ebix COI, includes features such as Policy & Contract Intelligence, an AI Assist Agent and self-service workflows designed to help organisations manage certificate compliance from intake and validation to deficiency resolution.

The company said traditional COI compliance processes remain fragmented, with many organisations relying on generic templates rather than validating insurance certificates against actual contractual requirements.

According to Ebix Risk, the upgraded platform connects certificate data directly with underlying vendor contracts to validate insurance coverage requirements and automate follow-up actions for compliance deficiencies.

The company said the platform has been developed using over 30 years of data and expertise in certificate management, including datasets covering certificates, policies, endorsements and contractual exceptions.

The platform’s Contract Intelligence Lens extracts insurance requirements from vendor agreements and validates certificates against contract terms, while the Policy Intelligence Lens provides deeper insights into policies and endorsements.

Ebix Risk said its AI Assist Agent helps automate deficiency identification, vendor communication and resolution tracking.

Gagan Sethi said the company aims to transform certificate compliance into a broader risk and compliance workflow.

“With the next generation of Ebix COI, we are connecting contract requirements, coverage validation and deficiency resolution into one AI-enabled process,” he said.

Robert Rodriguez said organisations require tools that can determine whether certificates satisfy contractual obligations rather than only extracting data.

“The next phase of this market will be driven by the quality of domain expertise and data supporting AI-based decisions,” he said.
