A massive public gathering was organized yesterday by the Congress Party in Pitampura, Shakur Basti Assembly Constituency. Thousands of residents participated enthusiastically, expressing their unwavering support for Congress. This rally marked a significant milestone in the party’s election strategy and showcased its strong presence in the region.
Congress Promises Winds of Change
Addressing the crowd, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda emphasized the growing strength of the party in Delhi. He remarked, “This time, the people of Delhi are reminiscing about the progressive tenure of Sheila Dikshit and see Congress as the only alternative.” Criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he stated that Arvind Kejriwal’s government has completely derailed the city’s development. Turning his attention to the BJP, Hooda said, “In BJP’s 100 days of governance, farmers received no relief, women got no subsidy on LPG cylinders, and laborers were deprived of any support.”
AAP and BJP’s Failures Highlighted
Hooda also accused AAP of making grand promises that were never fulfilled. He said, “Both AAP and BJP have deceived the people of Delhi. Congress is the only party that has consistently worked for the betterment of underprivileged sections, women, and youth, and it will continue to do so.”
People Recall Sheila Dikshit’s Golden Era
Satish Luthra, Congress’s candidate from Shakur Basti Assembly Constituency, also spoke at the event, stating, “My dream is to make Shakur Basti a model of development. Congress has always understood the people’s problems and worked to resolve them.” Luthra highlighted Congress’s focus on improving education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
Appealing to the public, he said, “Give Congress a chance this time so we can lead the region towards development and prosperity. Our priorities will include economic security for women, job opportunities for youth, and infrastructure development in the constituency.”
This public gathering energized Congress’s election campaign and instilled hope among residents for the return of Sheila Dikshit’s golden era of governance—an aspiration the party promises to fulfill if elected.
