Cloudflare Inc on Thursday announced the acquisition of Human Native, an AI data marketplace that connects content creators with artificial intelligence developers, as part of its efforts to strengthen content access and monetisation in the AI ecosystem.
The acquisition is aimed at enabling AI developers to more easily discover and access high-quality content, while allowing creators and publishers to offer their data to AI companies through transparent and paid channels, Cloudflare said.
Human Native’s technology will support Cloudflare’s plans to develop tools that help creators structure, price and monetise their content for AI training and inference, while retaining control over how their work is used.
Matthew Prince, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloudflare, said the move is intended to support the development of a sustainable economic model for the next phase of the internet, where content can be discovered and purchased by AI companies through transparent mechanisms.
Founded in 2024 and backed by venture capital firms LocalGlobe and Mercuri, Human Native focuses on building infrastructure that enables fair compensation and credit for creators whose content is used by AI systems. The Human Native team includes professionals with experience at companies such as DeepMind, Google, Figma and Bloomberg.
Cloudflare said the acquisition will help advance its vision for an AI-driven internet economy by supporting responsible use of high-quality, ethically sourced data.
