Shankar Fenestrations and Glasses on Wednesday announced the development of certified bulletproof glass designed for use in modern architectural applications, amid rising demand for enhanced building security solutions.
The company said the product has been developed in response to increasing security concerns across commercial buildings, financial institutions, government facilities, luxury residences, and high-value retail spaces. The glass is supported by test certifications to validate its ballistic resistance for deployment in high-risk environments.
According to the company, the system uses multi-layer laminated technology, combining high-strength glass panes with specialised interlayer materials to absorb and deflect bullet impacts. It is designed to allow light transmission while maintaining structural integrity and preventing unauthorised entry.
The product can be integrated into architectural elements such as windows, façades, partitions, and security enclosures, enabling its use across a range of infrastructure settings.
Dinesh Chandra Pandey, Founder of Shankar Fenestrations and Glasses, said the development aligns with the company’s focus on creating glazing systems that meet both safety and performance requirements. He added that the product aims to provide architects, developers and institutions with a reliable security solution compatible with modern building designs.
The company said the glass is suitable for applications in banks, corporate offices, embassies, government buildings, showrooms, airports, and premium residential projects, where both transparency and protection are required.
Shankar Fenestrations and Glasses said the launch expands its portfolio of architectural glass offerings, as demand for security-focused construction materials continues to grow in India.
