ALUMEX India 2025 Kicks Off, Unlocking Global Opportunities for Aluminium Extrusion Industry

ALUMEX India 2025, the country’s first dedicated aluminium extrusion exhibition, is underway at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Organised by the Aluminium Extrusion Manufacturers Association of India (ALEMAI), the four-day event was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the presence of industry leaders.

The exhibition has brought together over 200 exhibitors and expects nearly 25,000 business visitors from across the aluminium value chain. It is highlighting opportunities, challenges, and the future roadmap for India’s aluminium extrusion sector.

Despite an installed capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum, domestic output stands at just 1.2 million tonnes. The rest is imported, mainly due to price differences, Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concessions, and cheaper imports from China and ASEAN nations. US tariffs have further added to the challenges for domestic manufacturers.

Om Birla underlined aluminium’s significance, calling it the “metal of the future” and urging MSMEs to adopt new technologies and improve quality standards.

ALEMAI President Jitendra Chopra announced that the exhibition will be rebranded as Aluminium Bharat in the future, expanding beyond extrusion to cover the entire aluminium ecosystem.

Industry leaders including Hindalco’s Aniruddha Kulkarni and Vedanta’s Rajiv Kumar called for policy support, fair competition, and innovation to make India globally competitive.

The event is supported by Hindalco, Vedanta, the Commerce Ministry, JNARDDC, Yantra India Ltd., and EEPC-India.
