
The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been honored with the Best Civil Society Award for 2023-24 by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability. The award recognizes the foundation’s exemplary commitment to corporate governance and societal development.
The prestigious accolade was received by Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Shridhar Venkat, CEO of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, at the 11th Asia Business Responsibility Summit held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
Expressing gratitude, Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa stated, “This award reaffirms our commitment to driving positive change within communities while upholding the highest standards of governance and sustainability. We thank the Central and State Governments, corporate and individual donors, and volunteers for their unwavering support.”

The award places Akshaya Patra among an esteemed group of past recipients, including Wipro Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd, and Colgate India Ltd. The event was attended by prominent industry leaders such as Mr. Chris Pierce, CEO of Global Governance Services, UK, and members of the Asian Centre’s Global Advisory Board. Other notable awardees included Mr. Suresh Narayanan (CMD, Nestlé Ltd), Mr. Sameer Mehta (Chair, Torrent Power Ltd), and Mr. Venu Srinivasan (Chairman Emeritus, TVS Motor Co).
