Air India Express Waives Cargo Charges for Flood Relief Supplies to Assam

Air India Express has announced a waiver of cargo charges for transporting relief materials to Assam to support flood relief efforts in the state.

The initiative is aimed at helping registered non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and recognised relief agencies send essential humanitarian supplies to flood-affected communities. Eligible cargo includes food and dry rations, drinking water, medicines, hygiene and sanitation kits, clothing, blankets, tarpaulins and other relief materials, subject to regulatory requirements and the airline’s cargo policies.

The waiver applies to Air India Express flights to Guwahati from Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The airline currently operates six daily flights from Delhi, three daily flights from Bengaluru and two daily flights from Kolkata to Guwahati, providing multiple options for transporting relief supplies.

Relief organisations intending to use the service can contact the airline by emailing relief@airindiaexpress.com or calling +91 7982118680 with details of their organisation and shipment requirements. Air India Express said its cargo team will assist with documentation, packaging guidelines, shipment acceptance and flight allocation, subject to operational feasibility and available cargo capacity.

The airline said the initiative is intended to support humanitarian organisations working to deliver essential supplies to people affected by the ongoing floods in Assam.
