Air India Express has officially joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA), marking a major milestone in its global growth journey. The membership reinforces the airline’s commitment to international safety and operational standards, while expanding its global partnerships and reach.
IATA, which represents around 350 airlines across 120+ countries—covering over 80% of world air traffic—requires members to pass the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). Air India Express has been on the IOSA registry since 2017 and now takes the next step as a full IATA member.
“We welcome Air India Express into the IATA family. Having been IOSA-registered since 2017, the airline’s decision to become a member broadens the perspectives we can bring to global aviation issues,” said Sheldon Hee, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific.
Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, called the move a proud milestone: “Becoming part of the IATA family highlights our commitment to world-class standards. This enables us to expand our global footprint with the assurance of reliability, safety, and convenience for our guests.”
The membership will also allow Air India Express to participate in IATA’s Billing and Settlement Plans (BSP), enabling smoother integration with IATA-accredited travel agents worldwide.
With a fleet of 115 aircraft, Air India Express operates 500+ daily flights across 41 domestic and 17 international destinations, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. The new IATA membership strengthens its mission to connect people, places, and opportunities—now backed by IATA’s global framework.
