The Government of Nagaland has designated Air India Express as the official travel partner for the Hornbill Festival 2025. The announcement was made in Gurugram in the presence of state officials and senior airline leadership.
As part of the association, one of the airline’s new Boeing 737-8 aircraft will carry a special livery inspired by the traditional Tsüngkotepsü design of the Ao tribe. The aircraft is scheduled to be received by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, at Dimapur Airport on 22 November.
Air India Express will also support the travel of participating artists and organisers and set up a Hornbill Festival information kiosk at Dimapur Airport. To encourage travel to the event, the airline has announced a 15% discount on direct and one-stop flights to Dimapur for bookings made between 20 and 30 November, valid for travel until 15 December.
The airline currently operates daily flights connecting Dimapur to Guwahati, with one-stop onward connectivity to major cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Patna. It also operates multiple weekly services across the Northeast region, including Agartala, Imphal, and Dibrugarh.
The Hornbill Festival, held annually in Nagaland, is known for its showcase of tribal culture, music, crafts, and traditions, drawing visitors from across India and abroad.
