Air India Express Marks Durga Pujo with Jamdani-Themed Celebration

As West Bengal embraces the festive spirit of Durga Pujo, Air India Express added a cultural touch to its operations by celebrating the occasion with pride and tradition.

The airline’s Boeing aircraft, VT-BXG, took off from Bagdogra to Bengaluru featuring a special tailfin design inspired by the timeless Jamdani weave, renowned for its intricate handloom patterns.

To mark the occasion, the airline’s crew at Bagdogra wore elegant Jamdani attire, joining the festivities beside the aircraft. Guests on board were treated to a festive dessert — a ‘Gourmair’ sondesh tiramisu, blending Bengal’s traditional sweet with a modern twist.

With 70 weekly flights from Bagdogra and over 130 from Kolkata, Air India Express plays a vital role in connecting people, places, and cultures across India.

Through its Tales of India initiative, the airline continues to spotlight India’s textile heritage, celebrating artisans and showcasing the country’s cultural richness.
