Air India Express celebrated the launch of four new routes from Bhubaneswar, enhancing connectivity across India. The inaugural flights to Jaipur and Kochi took off today, with services to Lucknow commencing tomorrow and Patna on January 15.
The launch event at Bhubaneswar Airport was graced by dignitaries including Babu Singh, MLA; Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Government of Odisha; Debadutta Suranjita Jena, Additional Secretary, Government of Odisha; and senior officials from Air India Express. Passengers on the inaugural flights to Jaipur and Kochi received special commemorative boarding passes.
The flight to Jaipur departed at 07:55 hours, arriving at 10:15 hours, while the Kochi service left at 15:10 hours, landing at 17:40 hours. Flights to Lucknow will operate thrice weekly, and the Patna service will run daily.
Air India Express now offers 104 weekly flights from Bhubaneswar, connecting directly to 11 domestic destinations and providing one-stop access to 19 additional domestic and 10 international locations, including Dubai and Singapore.
With a growing fleet of over 90 aircraft, Air India Express recently surpassed 50 destinations. New services include flights to Bangkok, Jammu, and Dimapur. A new aircraft features a livery inspired by Odisha’s iconic Ikat textile, showcasing the state’s culture.
This expansion strengthens Bhubaneswar’s position as a key aviation hub and reflects Air India Express’s commitment to enhancing regional and international connectivity.
