Acronis launches archival storage solution for long-term data protection

Acronis, a global cybersecurity and data protection company, on Tuesday announced the launch of Acronis Archival Storage, a long-term data storage and protection solution designed for managed service providers (MSPs) and small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The company said the new offering enables secure and cost-efficient retention of infrequently accessed data while meeting long-term compliance and regulatory requirements. The solution is integrated into the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform and supports S3-compatible object storage with unified billing and management.

According to Acronis, the archival storage solution offers encryption and immutability features to ensure data integrity, along with predictable pricing through the elimination of egress and API fees. It provides millisecond-level data retrieval, 11×9 data durability and 99.5 percent availability, the company said.

Gaidar Magdanurov, President of Acronis, said the solution allows MSPs to deliver long-term, compliance-ready storage with cost predictability and ease of use, while being natively integrated into the company’s cyber protection platform.

The company said Acronis Archival Storage is designed to address challenges associated with traditional tape-based systems and public cloud storage, which can involve slow access and unpredictable costs. The solution supports use cases such as audits, investigations and long-term data preservation.

The offering includes preconfigured plans, global availability across seven data centres, and is positioned to complement warm backup storage for regulated industries. Acronis said the solution is available immediately through the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform.
