Cloudflare has launched an AEO Visibility Dashboard, a new addition to its Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Suite, aimed at helping businesses understand how their brands appear in responses generated by AI assistants.
The dashboard provides data on whether AI systems cite or mention a brand and how prominently it appears in AI-generated answers. Cloudflare said the tool is designed to address the limited visibility brands have into their presence across AI-driven discovery channels.
The dashboard includes four key metrics: Citation Rate, Mention Rate, Prominence and Share of Voice. Citation Rate indicates how often AI platforms use a brand’s website as a source, while Mention Rate tracks instances where a brand is named without its website being cited. Prominence measures the position and extent of a brand’s presence within an AI response. Share of Voice compares a brand’s visibility with competitors across questions relevant to its customers.
Cloudflare said the dashboard uses network-level signals, including AI crawler activity and referral data observed across its network, rather than relying only on sample prompts sent to AI chatbots.
The new dashboard complements Cloudflare’s existing Agent Readiness tool, which assesses whether AI agents can access and use a website. This includes factors such as crawl permissions, sitemaps, structured content and interfaces for advanced use cases.
The AEO Visibility Dashboard is currently available through an early-access programme. Businesses can request access from the Overview section of the Cloudflare dashboard.
